TAPI is a great project for the whole region. This was stated in an interview with ORIENT Special assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for oil Nadim Baber, who participated in a separate session of the X Gas Congress devoted to the implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project (TurkmenistanAfghanistanPakistanIndia).
Baber also noted that at the beginning of the year Turkmenistan and Pakistan signed several documents on it. By the end of the year, we hope to completely close the issue of papers. There is still a little left, and we will be able to start the practical implementation of the pipeline.
The first stage of TAPI implementation � pipeline laying, the consortium hopes to complete in 2020. By the second stage � the construction of compressor stations along the power line, which will increase its capacity, the company hopes to start in an expanded composition.
Russian and Arab companies are interested in joining TAPI.
During the session devoted to TAPI, representatives of financial institutions of the participating countries presented the promotion of the project and methods of its financing.
