Tashkent hosts Uzbekistan – Bangladesh political consultations

On March 14, Tashkent hosted the first round of political consultations with the participation of representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

The delegations of the parties were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Siddikov and Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh Masud Momen.

It should be noted that political consultations are being held for the first time in the history of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between the two countries in political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.

The sides exchanged views on interaction within the UN and other multilateral structures.

The importance of expanding the contractual and legal framework of interaction was noted. In this regard, an agreement was reached on the establishment of working groups with the participation of representatives of relevant ministries and agencies.

The main attention was paid to the intensification of economic diplomacy by facilitating the establishment and expansion of contacts between business entities, creating favorable conditions for mutual trade and implementation of joint investment projects.
