Tatarstan is ready to supply grain, oil and sugar to Turkmenistan

Tatarstan is interested in increasing the export of agricultural products to Turkmenistan. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov at a meeting with the consul of Turkmenistan in Kazan Guych Garaev , the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan reports .

In particular, the minister announced his readiness to supply grain, sunflower oil, sugar, baby food and dairy products, including powdered milk and cheeses, to Turkmenistan.

Zyabbarov noted that last year food products worth about $1.24 million were imported from Tatarstan to Turkmenistan, the ministry's press service reported . This is mainly sunflower oil, confectionery, mayonnaise and other types of sauces.

There are no direct imports from Turkmenistan to Tatarstan, the report emphasizes. “I consider the indicators of both exports and imports to be very low. Our republics have a huge unrealized potential for increasing these indicators. It is in this vein that we need to build work and find specific points of contact,” said Marat Zyabbarov.

In turn, the consul acquainted the minister with the export opportunities of Turkmenistan in the field of agriculture. He also reported on the meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Tatarstan Working Group on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation planned for March. Within its framework, it was proposed to organize a joint exhibition of agricultural products of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan.
