Teams from Turkmenistan won silver medals at “STEAM-Azerbaijan-2022”

Students of the Secondary Specialized School ? 97 of the city of Ashgabat and students of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, studying at the Faculty of Information Technology, took part in the International Festival «STEAM-Azerbaijan-2022» (SAF-2022).

The intellectual and scientific forum brought together young programmers and students studying the basics of digital technologies from educational institutions of the UK, Israel, Turkey, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan at the Baku Expo Center.

The delegation from Turkmenistan was headed by school chemistry teacher Amanmyrat Torayev and university teacher Begli Begjanov.

The program of the festival included the performance of competitive tasks. Our schoolchildren participated in the competition of robotic projects. And students demonstrated their skills from different areas of software development in the Hackathon (Hacker Marathon).

The efforts of both teams representing Turkmenistan were appreciated. In the team standings, the school group won the 2nd place. The student team also entered the top three, taking second place in their discipline. So, Turkmen citizens returned home with silver medals and valuable gifts.

The festival, organized with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held in conjunction with an exhibition of advanced innovative projects. The main goal of the event is to promote STEAM education, develop the skills of the XXI century among students, study international experience in the field of innovation and digitalization.
