On 26 January 2023, a meeting of the President of the Republic of Korea Mr. Yoon Suk-yeol with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea Mr. Begench Durdyyev was held in the Yongsan Presidential Palace. During the meeting, the Turkmen diplomat presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the Republic of Korea.
President Yoon Suk-yeol congratulated Ambassador Begench Durdyyev on his appointment to this high position and wished him success in strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the President of the Republic of Korea and the Turkmen diplomat noted that the agreements reached at the highest level have created a reliable basis for moving the Turkmen-Korean cooperation to a qualitatively new level. The important directions of cooperation in various fields, in particular, political and inter-parliamentary cooperation, energy, trade, economy, transport, communications, processing industry, agriculture and other sectors were highlighted.
At the end of the conversation, the Ambassador Begench Durdyyev assured the President Yoon Suk-yeol that, as the plenipotentiary representative of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea, he will make all the efforts for the further development of multifaceted and fruitful relations that are in line with the interests of the two countries and their friendly nations.
