The mentor of the Ashgabat football club "Altyn Asyr" ("Golden Age") Yazkuli Khodjageldyev was named the best football coach of the past season in Turkmenistan based on the results of a survey of specialized specialists. Sports journalists and representatives of the country's football clubs took part in the voting.
45-year-old Yazkuli Khojageldyev in the ended season led Altyn Asyr to victory in the championship and the Super Cup of Turkmenistan. Next season, the club will play in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup.
Yazkuli Khodzhageldyev was born in Byuzmeyin (near Ashgabat). As a player, he played as a midfielder for the Turkmen clubs "Buzmeyin", "Dagdan", "Kopetdag" and MTTU. Repeated champion of the country and winner of the Cup of Turkmenistan.
As a coach, for the first time in the history of Turkmen football in 2018, he led the Altyn Asyr team to the AFC Cup final.
