The Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan announced the start of the election campaign for the election of deputies of the Mejlis

A regular meeting of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums in Turkmenistan was held, dedicated to the elections of deputies of the Mejlis of the seventh convocation, members of the velayat (regional), etrap (district) and city halk maslahaty (people's councils) of the fifth convocation, members of the Gengeshes (Councils) of the ninth convocation.

According to the Electoral Code of Turkmenistan, the decision of the Turkmen Central Election Commission announced the start of the election campaign. The decision of the Central Election Commission informs about the formation of 125 constituencies in the country. The document also notes that the nomination of candidates begins 60 calendar days before election day.

During the current meeting, its participants discussed the organizational issues of the upcoming campaign, which will be monitored by both national observers from political parties and public organizations, and international experts and observers.

Elections of deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan are scheduled for March 26.
