A delegation of the transport complex of Turkmenistan paid a business visit to the Astrakhan region. The trip took place in accordance with the previously reached agreement with the Governor of the region Igor Babushkin.
During the three days of their stay in the Russian region, the members of the Turkmen delegation visited the ports, the port special economic zone "Lotos" (PSEZ) under construction and the shipbuilding plant of the same name, the design bureau "Flotproekt", the Caspian Institute of Sea and River Transport and other organizations of the transport industry.
Denis Afanasyev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Astrakhan Region, commented on the meetings with Turkmen partners as follows: “We note the importance of developing our relations with Turkmenistan in the field of logistics, transport, industrial cooperation, and trade. Already, this cooperation is bearing fruit, but we still have many opportunities to get better results from it.”
According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Natural Resources of the Astrakhan region Mikhail Kabakov, while visiting transport infrastructure facilities, shipbuilding and design organizations, the Turkmen colleagues received a number of proposals from the host country. Also, the Russian side is ready to provide consulting assistance and participate in the training of specialists for the transport industry on the basis of local universities.
