Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Turkmenistan for Economic Affairs Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a series of talks in Tehran.
During the meeting with Iranian Oil Minister Javad Ovji, the parties discussed issues of expanding partnership in trade, economic and energy fields. The parties noted that cooperation in the field of oil and gas, as well as in the oil refining industry is a priority area of bilateral cooperation.
During negotiations with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Rostam Ghasemi, the sides discussed issues of developing cooperation in the field of industry, transport and communications, in particular, expanding road and rail transport.
The delegation of Turkmenistan also held talks with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mohber and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan. During the talks, the parties noted the coincidence or similarity of the positions of the two countries on key aspects of global and regional politics of mutual interest. The parties paid special attention to the problems of ensuring universal peace, security and sustainable development.
