On October 31 - November 01, 2019, the delegation of Turkmenistan participated in the annual International Forum of Public Diplomacy Dialogue on the Volga: Peace and Mutual Understanding in the 21st Century held in Volgograd, Russian Federation.
During the speech, the Turkmen side spoke about the foreign policy pursued by the respected President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, aimed at maintaining friendly and good neighborly relations with all countries of the region. This policy is based on neutrality as a modeling principle for building relations on the world stage, a principle formed on deeply historical roots, national specifics of mentality and fundamental principles of the modern worldview paradigm. The fact of unanimous adoption at the 73rd session of the General Assembly of the United Nations by the member states of the Resolution 2021 - the International Year of Peace and Confidence, put forward by Turkmenistan, was cited as practical confirmation.
In turn, the Russian side expressed interest in further strengthening relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation in various areas of bilateral and multilateral partnership.
