The Democratic Party of Turkmenistan nominated its candidate for the presidential elections in the country

An extraordinary IX Congress of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat. The main issue on the agenda of the congress was the nomination of one of the leading political organizations of the country as a candidate for the post of President of Turkmenistan. The forum participants considered a proposal to nominate Serdar Berdimuhamedov, deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, as a candidate for the presidential elections.

In the speeches of members of the Democratic Party, the leadership and organizational qualities of the applicant were noted. It was also emphasized that as a modest and sympathetic person, a good family man and a supporter of a healthy lifestyle, he earned the respect of his colleagues.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov graduated from the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S. A. Niyazov in 2001 with a degree in process engineering. Being also a specialist in international relations, over the years of his career, he has accumulated rich management experience, holding positions such as the chairman of the Mejlis committee, deputy foreign minister, deputy, and then hyakim (head of administration) of the Akhal velayat (region), minister of industry and construction production , Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber, member of the State Security Council and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

Noting his merits, experience in leadership positions, high business and moral qualities, the meeting participants decided to nominate him as a candidate for the country's highest state post. The draft resolution on this issue was adopted unanimously.

In turn, Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked the congress participants for their trust. He stated that he was aware of the responsibility and would do everything in his power to justify it.
