The Department of Education of Ashgabat is looking for contractors to overhaul the heating systems of kindergartens and schools

The Main Department of Education of Ashgabat has announced a tender to identify contractors for the overhaul of cooling and heating systems, as well as suppliers of building materials and equipment for secondary schools and kindergartens in the capital.

The corresponding announcement was placed in the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan” dated November 3.

On October 16, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held  a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers with vice-premiers and heads of regions on preparations for the autumn-winter season.

Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov , who is in charge of the construction, industrial and energy complex , said that boiler houses, power grid facilities, gas and water supply facilities, as well as public utilities are ready for uninterrupted operation during the winter heating season of 2022-2023 in the velayats and Ashgabat.

The hyakims of Ashgabat and all regions of the country also assured the head of state that the Public Utilities Departments are ready to provide heat to residential buildings, kindergartens, schools, hospitals and enterprises.

As “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” has repeatedly reported, residents of the capital and regions are periodically left without heat in the autumn-winter period due to burst pipes. This problem is of a systemic nature and can be solved only by completely replacing the long-corroded pipes, but, according to the heads of the capital’s housing and communal services, they do not have money for this. Repair crews come to the call to patch holes or, at best, replace a small section of pipe with the same worn one.
