In Tehran, on the sidelines of the session on reforms at the Economic Cooperation Organization, a meeting was held between Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Khadzhiev and ECO Secretary General Khusrav Noziri.
The parties discussed the development of partnership in the ECO space, as well as the implementation of the agreements reached during the 15th ECO summit, held in November last year in Ashgabat.
The parties paid special attention to organizing a number of upcoming meetings aimed at solving urgent problems of economic cooperation within the framework of the organization. In particular, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan and the ECO Secretary General exchanged views on the organization of a meeting of ministers of transport of landlocked countries, scheduled for August this year in Ashgabat. According to the parties, this meeting is of great importance for the further development of the transport and communication network in the space of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
ECO is a regional interstate economic organization established in 1985. It includes Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
