The exhibition “White City, White Architecture” has opened in Ashgabat

The exhibition The White City, White Architecture, dedicated to the centenary of the Bauhaus Higher School of Construction and Art Design, opened at the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan.

The Bauhaus style, which appeared in Weimar in 1919, is a hallmark of German architecture. Advocates of this style advocated the reform of the building culture of Germany, as well as the union of art and crafts.

We want to show the connection between the Bauhaus and Ashgabat styles. They are somewhat similar, for example, in the use of white. Ashgabat is a white city, so we decided to hold an anniversary exhibition here, said German Ambassador to Turkmenistan Nightheart Hefer-Wissing.

The exhibition provided a wide platform for the exchange of experience between specialists from Turkmenistan and Germany in the field of building architecture. Design, graphics, painting, sculpture - a wide range of artistic and architectural trends was presented at the exhibition.

The exhibition also featured the best works of Turkmen students, selected during the competition by a German professor, architect Philippe Moiser. On this site you can see 16 projects recognized by the German expert as the most original of 186 works.
