The expert disclosed the cost of electricity supplied from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan

On September 8, a representative of the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Kyrgyzstan refused to disclose the cost of electricity imported from Turkmenistan, the supply of which the countries agreed on on August 11 this year, explaining that “other countries also buy energy from Turkmenistan”.

“Preliminarily, the presidents agreed to supply 2 billion kWh. This tariff is valid only for this volume. Then there will be a commercial price, ”said the Deputy Energy Minister.

The next day, the price of Turkmen electricity calculated energy expert Rasul Umbetaliev, reports the Kyrgyz edition Tazabek.

According to the expert, according to the agreement signed on August 11 this year, from August to December, Turkmenistan will supply Kyrgyzstan with 501.9 million kWh at a price of 2.05 soms / kWh or $ 0.02422. At the same time, the Turkmen side sells energy at $ 0.02 per kWh, and the remaining $ 0.00422 is a transit fee to Uzbekistan.

Thus, from August to December, Turkmenistan will receive $ 10 million 35 thousand from Kyrgyzstan.

It should be noted that during the opening of a new transmission line in Afghanistan in January this year, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani thanked the government of Turkmenistan "for reducing the price of electricity for the TAP 500 kV project from 6 to 3.5 cents."
