Ashgabat hosted the final round of the television competition for amateur young artists “Ýanlan, Diýarym!” ("Sing, Motherland!"). The musical project, which turns 30 this year, is organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, as well as the administrations of five regions and the Ashgabat City Hall.
12 young vocalists - 8 boys and 4 girls - made it to the final round of the competition. In addition, the winners of reviews of previous years were invited to the summing up of its results and the gala concert.
In the final round, the participants sang songs to the words of classical poets, folk and author's songs. After a thorough discussion of the performances, the competent jury announced the names of the six winners to the thunderous applause of the audience. They were student Gozel Nurberdiyeva, carpet weaver Yagshigul Mukhammedova, oil and gas complex worker Durdy Annayev, student Batyr Agayev, worker of the rural House of Culture Byashim Annayev and student Toyly Dzhumayev. The winners were awarded with special diplomas and memorable gifts.
