The Foreign Ministry has meeting with representatives of the UN Conference for Trade and Development and International Road Transport Union

Initial introduction of electronic documents for registration of vehicles and transit cargo has been discussed at working video conference session held at the Foreign Ministry with participation of representatives of the UN Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and International Road Transport Union (IRU).

In particular, necessity of coordinate transport policy has been noted for adding of practical orientation to regional cooperation taking into account an important role of Turkmenistan as a big transport hub of the continent.

Synchronization of legislation and tariffs and other procedures has also been highlighted. These measures are to provide activity of business structures and are able to effect the growth of cargo flows and volumes of foreign trade.

It was highlighted that initial introduction of electronic documents for registration of vehicles and transit cargo would give an opportunity to control their movement. In addition, such innovations will allow making electronic permits for crossing the borders more rapidly.

It is planned to create electronic road map and central informational base, which will contain all data about arriving, leaving and transit transport.
