The Foreign Ministry of the country hosted the meeting with Head of the Representative Office of the UN Children Fund (UNICEF) in our country Christine Weigand, during which development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNICEF has been discussed.
This traditional dialog has received fundamentally new content in modern age. Partnership with the United Nations Children Fund is one of priority vectors of foreign activity of Turkmenistan in the context of realization of the UN 2030 Global Agenda.
It is remarkable that number of joint year plans adopted by the government authorities of our country and the UNICEF have been signed during International conference “Turkmenistan and International Organizations: Cooperation for Peace and Development” dedicated to the 25th anniversary of permanent neutrality of the country, which was held in January this year with participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Turkmenistan demonstrates in practice responsible approach to provision of optimum conditions for harmonic development of growing generation, where care of health and prosperity of the nation is an important direction of the government policy. Achievements of our country in this sphere receive high appraisal by the UN Children Fund.
Exchange of the opinions on improvement of measures in digitization of education, health protection, system of social protection and readiness to emergency situation have been held during the meeting. Activity of our country in the sphere of provision and realization of child rights in the context of achievement of the Sustainable development goals was one of the subjects of discussion.
