A round table meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan dedicated to the events held in Ashgabat within the framework of the International Day of Neutrality. The meeting was attended by the heads and employees of the country's foreign ministry, as well as the heads of the diplomatic missions of Turkmenistan accredited abroad.
The participants of the round table discussed the final document adopted at the end of the international conference "Policy of Peace and Trust - the Basis of International Security, Stability and Development". They noted that this document underscored the urgency of calling on the UN Secretary General and the organization's member countries to continue the practice of conducting global campaigns to promote a culture of peace. The final document proposes to declare a "Global Decade for a Culture of Peace and Trust" for 2023–2032 at the level of the UN General Assembly.
Speakers at the meeting emphasized that the final document of the international forum calls on the UN member states to hold events on 12 December annually aimed at raising public awareness of the role and significance of the policy of neutrality.
