The government delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Atdaev paid a working visit to Tashkent. B. Atdaev met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, who are co-chairs of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, in the capital of Uzbekistan.
During the talks, the progressive development of bilateral relations was noted, which gained new momentum after the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan in July this year.
The parties discussed the prospects for the implementation of the program of trade and economic cooperation and the development of industrial cooperation for 2022-2025 between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, and also considered the possibility of holding the next, 17th meeting of the joint Turkmen-Uzbek commission before the end of 2022.
In addition, the parties exchanged views on the issue of increasing joint projects in the agricultural, construction, textile and pharmaceutical industries, and also expressed interest in the joint production of cars, agricultural and household appliances in Turkmenistan.
The parties also paid attention to the issues of expanding transport and logistics ties, including stimulating the transit of goods through the territory of the two states and organizing pilot transportation along international transport corridors using the capabilities of seaports.
