On Monday, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the head of the Danish company "Haldor Topsoe" Bjorn Stefan Klausen, during which the prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation in the oil and gas industry were discussed.
Recall, this company has developed a technology TIGAS for the production of synthetic gasoline from natural gas, which was first used in the world on an industrial scale at the plant, built in the Akhal region. It allows to produce high-quality automotive fuel with the lowest energy consumption and minimal impact on the environment.
Put into operation in June 2019, the plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas is designed for the annual processing of 1 billion 785 million cubic meters of "blue fuel", the production of 600 thousand tons of gasoline of the EU-93 brand, corresponding to the EURO-5 standard, as well as 12 thousand tons of diesel fuel and 115 thousand tons of liquefied gas.
During the meeting, Bjorn Klausen handed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov international certificates confirming the innovative nature of production at this industrial complex.
So, the Federation of power industry of the Kingdom of Denmark noted the high level of environmental standards implemented at the plant, resulting in minimal emission of carbon dioxide, no sulfur, harmful metals, and the strict requirements on the content of aromatic and olefin hydrocarbons in the product, and the Academy of chemical engineers UK (IChemE) improvement of the technology TIGAS (production of synthetic petrol from natural gas).
The certificate of the largest organization IChemE, founded in 1922 as a professional institution for chemical engineers and technologists, was awarded as the winner of the Global nomination "Oil and gas-2019".
As Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed, in recent years, the economic development strategy of our country is focused on the diversification of the oil and gas sector, the expansion of its infrastructure through the creation of modern production facilities. In this aspect, the priority is the processing of natural gas and the production of new environmentally friendly products, the President continued, noting that concrete steps are being taken in this direction.
Currently, the fuel and energy complex is being diversified, modern production facilities are being built and put into operation for the production of oil and gas products that are in great demand on the world market. Among them there is a gas chemical complex in the village of Kiyanly of the Balkan region, a plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas in the Akhal region and others.
These large enterprises contribute to the large-scale industrialization of the country's regions, increasing the power of the Turkmen economy through the production of export-oriented goods. By implementing such unprecedented projects, we are creating the necessary conditions for turning our country into one of the effective centers of the green economy, the head of state stressed.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of bilateral partnership in the context of the implementation Of the program of development of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan for the period up to 2030.
It provides for further expansion of production capacity of the industry, which is closely related to ensuring energy security of the country, the goals of sustainable economic development at the global and regional levels. This, in turn, requires increasing the efficiency of work on oil and gas fields with the use of advanced technologies.
Noting the prospects for increasing cooperation with Turkmenistan, the head of "Haldor Topsoe" confirmed the company's interest in further cooperation. In this aspect, issues related to the use of environmentally friendly technologies at the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan, as well as joint research and exchange of specialists were discussed.
