On December 27, the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a press conference with journalists and summed up the results of 2021, according to the website of the president of the republic.
The transcript of the meeting was published by Business Online.
During a press conference, an Interfax journalist asked Minnikhanov about Tatneft's participation in exploration on the shelf of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea. Judging by the answer of the head of Tatarstan, there is no progress in this matter.
Albert Fakhrutdinov, Interfax: In April, following your meeting with Vice President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, it was reported that the leadership of Tatarstan considers Tatneft's possible participation in exploration on the shelf of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea promising. Are there negotiations on TATNEFT's participation in exploration of the Caspian Sea shelf in Turkmenistan, or is it still nothing more than a promising idea at the moment?
Minnikhanov: As for Turkmenistan, we have close, good contacts with the leadership of this country. We have two companies working very seriously: KER-Holding and HMS Group. The KAMAZ company works very well, it has always worked successfully in Turkmenistan, and our vehicles are well represented there. TATNEFT is also very active: supplies of oil and gas equipment, service work. Dear President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Myalikgulyevich always supports our oil workers.
As for working on the shelf - yes, we are interested, but we haven’t gotten to this topic yet . If there is such an opportunity, we are ready to join this work with great interest. And so the work is going well on the oil industry.
