The state and prospects of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation were discussed during a telephone conversation between the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the talks, it was noted that bilateral cooperation is built on the principles of friendship and good neighborliness, taking into account the realities of today and the situation in the region and the world. According to the parties, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have common approaches to current international and regional issues, which is an important prerequisite for joining efforts to ensure sustainable development and stability in the region.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to the issues of enhancing trade and economic relations, which is one of the priority areas of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation. The parties also noted the significant potential of bilateral partnership in the fuel and energy sector, the chemical and processing industries, as well as in the transport and logistics industry.
