President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held offsite extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers in the conference hall of International Airport. The Chairperson of the Mejlis, members of the Government, leaders of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, non-governmental organizations, mass media and directors of the universities took part in the session. The agenda of the session included the outcomes of the official visit of the Government delegation of our country to the Republic of Azerbaijan, organizational issues of Ashgabat 2017 Games and the events planned for August 17 on occasion of 30-day countdown to the beginning of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
Opening the session, the Head of the country stated with delight the success of fruitful Turkmen � Azeri high-level talks in Baku. Having pointed the attention at the importance of efficient work made by relative structures for achievement of the success of joint activity of Intergovernmental Turkmen � Azeri Commission for economic cooperation, Turkmen Leader highlighted the necessity of comprehensive measures for successful implementation of the agreements achieved during the official visit.
During offsite session of the Government, representative of local mass media asked the question to the President of Turkmenistan on the prospects of the development of strategic directions of bilateral cooperation including in fuel and energy sector and trade and economic sphere.
The President noted that Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, occupying leading positions as energy powers, stand for making of the Caspian region as a territory of stability, progress and wide international partnership in Eurasia. Energy plays an important role in this as this involves economy, security, ecology, social aspect and diplomacy, - President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted.
Activation of trade and economic cooperation is the key factor of the efficient development interstate relations, - the Head of the State continued. At modern stage, Turkmenistan demonstrates high indicators in all branches of national economy. It is brightly indicated by steadfast improvement of production capability of the country, 6.4 percent growth of the GDP for 7 months, goods and products produced by domestic enterprises receiving world's recognition and international certificates. This stipulates the increment of export potential, promotes intensification of the partnership with all interested parties, especially with neighbour states.
According to the indicators for six months of the current year, the volumes of trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, comparing with the same period of the last year, increase for 40 percent. This fact indicates the success of the works in this direction, - President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted.
Answering the question on the decision to transfer the Day of Turkmen Melon to August 17, the Head of Turkmenistan explained that taking into account that melon is a favourite dainties as well as that holiday traditions are an integral part of national heritage and according to tradition we welcome the guest with national sweets, what symbolizes the wishes of prosperity and wellbeing, it was decided to combine honouring of Turkmen melon with event so occasion of 30-day countdown until the start of Ashgabat 2017 Games.
Turkmen melon is famous by its unforgettable taste and by right is considered as dainty delicacy. Combination of the events on occasion of the Day of Turkmen Melon wit other important events and dates in the life of the state and society will consolidate their image as symbols of prosperity.
Decision on combination of this holiday with the events on occasion of 30-day countdown until the beginning of the Games has special importance as another evidence of the commitment to the traditions of our ancestors. Organization of International exhibition of the cuisines of Turkmenistan and other 64 states participating in V Asian Games as well as gal concert will demonstrate the readiness of our country to the coming large sports event.
In continuation of the session, the President requested relative leaders to provide coordinated activity of all structures involved in organization of planned events on occasion of 30-day countdown until the beginning of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
The Head of the State also requested to undertake proper measures for high level of opening ceremonies of new social facilities and objects of oil and gas complex, the Centre of Social Organizations, Turkmen melon and international exhibition of the cuisine of the participants of Ashgabat 2017 Games as well as gala concert.
Having stressed the attention on important ecological action on that day, the President gave specific instructions for provision of high level of organization to relative leaders.
