The Heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan note positive dynamics of cooperation

Telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Having warmly greeted each other, the Leaders of the countries confirmed invariable commitment of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to friendship, good will and neighbourhood.

Having cordially congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov of recent celebration of the Turkmen Horse Day, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished Turkmen leader and all Turkmenistan citizens happiness and prosperity. The Uzbek Leader expressed the gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the reception of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and warm words passed by him.

Having expressed the gratitude for congratulations and warm wishes, the President of Turkmenistan also addressed best wished to fraternal people of Uzbekistan.

During the conversation, the Head of the states discussed the condition and priorities of bilateral cooperation under the agreements made during the first state visit of the Uzbek leader Turkmenistan in March of this year. Positive dynamics of implementation of these agreements was mentioned.

Having stated with delight high level of trust and understanding, the Leaders of two countries confirmed the presence of favourable perspectives for future consolidation of fruitful partnership in all spheres both on bilateral level and multilateral basis under large international organizations and structures.

In this regard, the importance of regular high-level and intergovernmental contacts including under the work of Intergovernmental Turkmen � Uzbek Commission for trade and economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation as well as meetings of business circles of both countries was mentioned. At the same time, the sides highlighted strategic role of automobile and railway bridges across Amudarya River, which were recently put into operation by Turkmen side and are an important part of international transport corridors.

The sides also mentioned the significance of humanitarian component of Turkmen � Uzbek relations. In this context, mutual purpose of intensification of fruitful contacts in cultural sphere, sports and tourism was highlighted. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov offered his Uzbek colleague to visit rapidly developing Avaza national tourist zone and to appraise personally the capabilities of sea resort.

The Turkmen leader said that children recreation centres, cottage complexes and fashionable hotels on ecologically clean Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea welcome Uzbek tourists for holidays, which undoubtedly would improve the health owing to unique natural factors of this region.

The Head of the Turkmen State invited President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to pay working visit to our country and familiarize with the development of Balkan Velayat where large projects for development of rich natural resources, recreational capabilities and construction of large seaport are undergoing.

The President of Uzbekistan accepted with gratitude the invitation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to visit Turkmenistan. The date of the visit will be coordinated by diplomatic channels.

The sides also shared the opinions on topical issues of regional and global agenda that presents mutual interest. In this relation, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the importance of the 6th session of the Heads of Foreign Departments of the countries of the dialog Central Asia + Japan held and Ashgabat and represented by Uzbekistan as well among other countries.

The Leaders of two neighbouring states stated with delight that existing high level of understanding and trust between the countries as well as similarity of opinions and approaches of the sides to topical issues of regional and international politics would continue serving as strong foundation for constructive cooperation in support of peace and stability.
