Noting the importance of the professional holiday of the Turkmen diplomats, established by the country's President in February 2009, speakers thanked for the high estimate of activities of the diplomatic service, playing an important role in the practical implementation of a peaceful foreign policy course, aimed at establishing broad mutually beneficial cooperation with all states.

In this context, it was noted an importance of Conception of neutral Turkmenistan's foreign policy course for 2017-2023, developed on the instructions of the nation's leader Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov. The adopted important document, designed to ensure the necessary conditions for a successful promotion of Turkmenistan on the path of peaceful development, conceives the basic principles and objectives of the country's foreign policy and identifies specific areas and tasks, the diplomatic corps faces for the upcoming years.

The submitted reports emphasized that the core of Turkmenistan's foreign policy became a unique and one-of-a-kind international and legal status of permanent neutrality, acquired in December 1995, recognized by the UN General Assembly, and approved by the world community.

Sharp evidence of the general recognition of the enormous role of neutrality in maintaining the stability on the planet has become the unanimous UN General Assembly's adoption of a Resolution on proclaiming the December 12 as the International Day of Neutrality.

The constructive character of Turkmenistan's neutrality and principles, taking as a basis, are vividly fixed in the multifaceted diplomacy of our state, actively establishing friendly relations with all partners concerned in the name of common interests and well-being. So, today our state maintains diplomatic relations with 142 countries of the world and is a member of 44 authoritative international organizations.

Multidimensional interaction with the United Nations Organization, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Non-Aligned Movement and others, is the main vector of foreign policy successfully pursued under the leadership of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov. Implementing the adopted bilateral and multilateral international agreements, treaties and conventions, our country fully and strictly adheres to commitments undertaken in the interests of global peace, progress and sustainable development.

Having approved itself as the responsible long-term UN partner, our state accumulated solid peacekeeping experience, and in particular, conduction of the negotiations in Ashgabat under the auspices of the United Nations by the political decision of intra-Tajik and intra-Afghan conflicts in the mid 90-ies of the last century testifies to it, as well as the opening of the UN Regional Center in the Turkmen capital for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia. All of this, certainly, makes our country unique geopolitical entity of the Central Asian region, pushing it to a role of leader in the stabilization, integration processes in this vast area.

As it is emphasized, pursuing a foreign policy, based on the principles of peacefulness and good neighborliness, Turkmenistan heads for upholding of not only national, but universal interests. From these positions, our state supports the world community's efforts to create a unified system of global security and brings to this work a significant contribution by taking an active part in the movement for general disarmament, the fight against the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, international terrorism, drug trafficking, organized crime. In addition, our country develops multilateral cooperation on the balanced solution of water-energy problems, environmental protection, environmental security in connection with climate change, etc.

Last years, all steps taken by Turkmenistan, its actual initiatives put forward, including the energy, transport and water diplomacy development, are in the focus of the world community's attention, and foreign diplomats' speeches testify to it.
