The King of Bahrain congratulated the new President of Turkmenistan on his election to the post

A telephone conversation took place between the current President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

During the conversation, the head of Turkmenistan told the monarch of Bahrain that, following the results of the presidential elections held in the country on March 12, Serdar Berdimuhamedov was elected as the new president. The Turkmen leader also said that he intends to continue his work as chairman of the upper house of the Turkmen parliament - the Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council) Milli Gengesh (National Council).

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked the King of Bahrain for his personal contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and handed over the phone to newly elected President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Congratulating the new head of Turkmenistan on his victory in the presidential elections, the King of Bahrain wished him success in his responsible work at the highest state post of the country.

In turn, Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked his interlocutor for the congratulations and confirmed his readiness to continue the course towards developing a constructive partnership with the states of the Arab world.

“Turkmenistan intends to continue to strengthen mutually beneficial relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain in all areas,” the new head of state said.
