There was a telephone conversation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
Afghan Leader cordially congratulated the Turkmen Leader on his convincing victory in the presidential election and wished him great success in the responsible state post. The Head of the neighboring state has expressed to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Turkmen people deep appreciation for the continued support in strengthening the peaceful life of the country.
In turn, the Turkmen Leader thanked Mohammad Ashraf Ghani for the congratulations and good wishes and has confirmed the commitment of Turkmenistan traditionally friendly, constructive dialogue with Afghanistan.
The interlocutors have exchanged views on the prospects of bilateral relations development. Trade and economic sphere, fuel and energy, power and other industries were identified among the priority areas of cooperation.
The subject of the separate discussion was the practical realization of construction projects of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) pipeline. The heads of the states also called for further expansion of contacts in the sphere of education, science and culture.
As part of the talks they also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the Turkmen Leader invited his Afghan counterpart to visit our country.
