The lower house of the Parliament of Turkmenistan adopted the law on the state budget of the country for 2023

The lower house of the Parliament of Turkmenistan – the Mejlis – considered at its meeting the draft law “On the State Budget of Turkmenistan for 2023”, as well as the draft resolution “On the execution of the State Budget of Turkmenistan for 2021”.

The meeting was attended by vice-premiers, heads of ministries, departments and media representatives. A preliminary discussion of the documents submitted for consideration was held in all committees of the Mejlis, as well as in the ministries, departments of the country, regional administrations and the mayor’s office of Ashgabat.

During the meeting, the parliamentarians noted that the draft law “On the State Budget of Turkmenistan for 2023” is aimed at maintaining sustainable economic growth, realizing the potential of Turkmenistan, ensuring high efficiency of public spending and improving the welfare of the people of the country. The deputies emphasized that the protected items of expenditure of the State Budget of Turkmenistan for 2023 are salaries, pensions, allowances, scholarships for students and trainees.

Following the discussion, the deputies unanimously voted for the adoption of the draft law “On the State Budget of Turkmenistan for 2023” and the resolution of the Mejlis “On the execution of the State Budget of Turkmenistan for 2021”.
