The main state holiday of Turkmenistan celebrated in Moscow

The reception in honor of the 28th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan was held in Moscow by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation.

The honorary guests of the evening were the head of the LDPR faction in the State Duma and the leader of this political party Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Russian pilot-cosmonaut, Hero of Russia and Hero of Turkmenistan Oleg Kononenko, chairman of the board of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States, People's Artist of Turkmenistan Polad Bulbul Ogly. Addressing the audience, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation Batyr Niyazliev noted that friendly and good-neighborly ties between the Turkmen and Russian peoples are finding their logical development in the recent history of the two countries. The past years of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia have been marked by a high level of interstate dialogue and are invariably characterized by mutual support and trust in the international arena. Speaking about the development of bilateral ties, the ambassador noted that the peoples of Turkmenistan and Russia have centuries-old historical ties, traditions of equal, good-neighborly relations, sincere sympathy for each other on a human level.

Aleksey Dyomin, Deputy Director of the 3rd Department of the CIS Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, cordially congratulated the participants on the occasion, celebrating the successful development of bilateral ties in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The Russian diplomat noted the undoubted merits of Turkmenistan and its leader, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in initiating a number of creative international processes aimed at strengthening political and economic stability in the Central Asian region, in particular, holding the first Caspian Economic Forum.

Congratulations and best wishes to the President and people of Turkmenistan were conveyed by the heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Moscow, representatives of the Russian scientific and cultural intelligentsia.
