The Minister of Defense spoke about improving the living conditions of soldiers, and Radio Azatlyk spoke about bribes for service in safe units

On May 31, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the State Security Council on the results of the work of law enforcement agencies for five months of 2022, the state information agency TDH reports .

TDH does not give details of the reports of members of the Security Council, only superficially touching upon the issues under discussion.

After the report of the Minister of Defense Begench Gundogdyev , who spoke about the military reform and the creation of proper conditions for the service and life of soldiers and officers, the head of state instructed to control the issues of the dismissal of military personnel to the reserve and spring conscription (held from April 1 to June 30), as well as to prepare for military parade in honor of Independence Day (September 27).

Meanwhile, Radio Azatlyk reported on May 27 that during conscription, parents try to send their children to safer military units. In order to raise the necessary amount for a bribe, as well as financially support children during their service, many have to borrow money or sell property.

According to the publication, the children of officials and influential people serve in the “criminal” special unit of the presidential guard located in Chuli. There is less hazing, soldiers are not taken to pick cotton and clean the streets, and the food is better than in regional and even metropolitan units.

Then Prosecutor General Batyr Atdaev reported on the fulfillment of the instructions given by the President earlier, including the improvement of the qualifications of employees. In response, Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered the use of effective prosecutorial measures and control over the implementation of laws.

Minister of Internal Affairs Muhammet Khydyrov reported on the results of the work carried out since the beginning of 2022 to prevent violations, comply with fire safety requirements in the country, as well as regulate traffic flow in the capital and velayats, and comply with traffic rules .

The President instructed the official to control the issues of ensuring fire safety, especially in the summer, to use advanced technologies to fulfill his duties, introduce a digital system and improve the professionalism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The authorities tightened control over the situation on the roads after the meeting of the Security Council on April 6, at which the president fired Interior Minister Ovezdurdy Khodzhanyyazov for violations of traffic rules by drivers in Ashgabat. At a meeting of the Security Council on May 5, the new Minister of the Interior was ordered to "eliminate the shortcomings that are allowed while observing the traffic rules" in a short time. After that, the Police Road Supervision Service tightened control over compliance with traffic rules in Ashgabat, and residents of the capital received SMS with a request to observe the speed limit and street crossing rules. This Service also sent cars with green numbers, registered to legal entities, to impound yards in Ashgabat, and again raided private taxi drivers.

Head of the State Border Service Yazgeldi Nuryev reported on the work to strengthen discipline, combat and humanitarian training of the Border Troops. On the day of the Security Council, Turkmen news reported that in mid-May, a conflict broke out between two Turkmen servicemen on the border between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. One soldier hit another in the chest, as a result of which the victim died. The military prosecutor's office from Ashgabat is investigating the case.

Concluding the meeting, the President noted that the priority for the state is to take care of military personnel and their families , and work to improve their well-being, improve social conditions and create opportunities for service and recreation will continue.
