The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan condemned the terrorist attack near the Russian embassy in Kabul

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan published on its website an official statement condemning the terrorist act committed at the consular section of the Russian Embassy in Kabul, which killed members of the Russian diplomatic mission and civilians of Afghanistan.

The Turkmen Foreign Ministry called on the world community to consolidate cooperation in the anti-terrorist direction, and also expressed deep condolences to the families and friends of the dead Russian colleagues.

The explosion in the immediate vicinity of the entrance to the consular section of the Russian Embassy in Kabul occurred on the morning of September 5. The attack happened while a Russian diplomat was announcing the names of applicants for a visa. Two employees of the department died - the second secretary of the embassy and an employee of the security department, reports Moscow 24.

The explosion, which also killed four Afghan soldiers, was carried out by a suicide bomber. He planned to activate an explosive device in the crowd. However, Taliban security officers shot at him, and the terrorist did not have time to carry out his plan.

The Afghan Foreign Ministry hopes that the explosion will not affect relations with Russia. “We have close relations with Russia, and we will not allow such negative actions of enemies to have a negative impact on relations between the two countries,” Abdul Kahar Balkhi , Foreign Ministry spokesman in the Taliban government, wrote on his Twitter page .
