A meeting of technical groups on confidence-building measures "Regional Infrastructures" of the countries participating in the Istanbul Process on Afghanistan was held at the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan. The meeting, organized with the assistance of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat, was attended by representatives of the countries participating in the Istanbul Process, as well as regional and international organizations.
During the meeting, issues of promoting infrastructure projects implemented in the region and Afghanistan by all interested parties were discussed. The meeting participants noted the importance of the effective implementation of various large-scale and local economic projects in order to strengthen socio-economic stability, security and further development of the region.
The Istanbul process covers 14 member countries, as well as 16 countries and 12 regional and international organizations supporting its agenda. This platform for discussing and developing mechanisms for solving regional problems is designed to help rebuild Afghanistan.
