President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received credentials from the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Askar Tazhibayev.
During the meeting, the head of Turkmenistan and the Kazakh plenipotentiary exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation, built on the principles of mutual respect and support. In this regard, the parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Ashgabat last year.
The head of state and the diplomat expressed their countries' readiness to intensify traditional cooperation and implement new joint projects that will help bring the two fraternal peoples closer together. The parties also noted the closeness of the approaches and positions of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan on topical issues of international politics. In this regard, the relevance of mutual support within the framework of international structures was emphasized.
