At a government meeting in Ashgabat, the country's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov by Resolution approved the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers, including 10 Vice-Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, 21 ministers and 27 chairmen of corporations and committees.
The Head of State first appointed by the Decree Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for Science, Education, Health, Sports, Youth and Public Affairs, noting that these areas are at the forefront in the country. President of Turkmenistan announced the decision to reappoint S. Toylyev to the position of Deputy Prime Minister in charge of these areas, taking into account his extensive experience.
Expressing gratitude for the work done by G. Mammedova, who previously oversaw the sphere of culture and media, the President said that her experience and knowledge will be used in another important area. The post of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for Culture and Media by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan is to be occupied by A.Garadzhaev.
Noting the rich experience of the Acting Vice-Premier B. Hodzhamammedov, the Head of State issued a decree re-appointing him Vice Premier for Economic Affairs, working with banks and international financial institutions. Among the priorities President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov named preservation of the growth rate of the national economy, and transition to market relations.
Noting professional experience of Y. Kakaev, the Head of State by his Decree has appointed him Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for oil and gas industry. Among the priorities President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov outlined the completion of transcontinental gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India, continuation of field development, including the largest gas field Galkynysh.
The post of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers on agricultural complex of Turkmenistan by the decree of the President is to be occupied by R. Bazarov, noting that the assessment of his operation will be given at the end of harvest collection period. The Head of State demanded to intensify agricultural reform, providing for capacity building of agricultural production at the expense of farming culture development, and careful use of water. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that currently agricultural research institutions, the activity of which will be discussed later, do not work at desirable level.
The post of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers on construction, energy and utilities, by Decree of the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is to be taken by D. Amangeldiev. The Head of State stressed the need to continue work on the transformation of the Turkmen capital into one of the most beautiful cities in the world and construction on the coast of the Caspian Sea of Avaza tourist zone, pointed out the need to strengthen control over implementation of the national rural development program.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov issued a Decree reappointing B. Ereshov to post of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Industry. The Head of State stressed that for the country's transformation into a developed industrial power it is necessary to attract foreign investment, establish joint ventures in the electronics industry. It is important to strengthen the work on modernization of the textile industry.
Then President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the post of Deputy Prime Minister for Trade remains with B. Atdaev and named among key areas of the sphere including increase in exports, expansion of foreign economic relations, support to the work of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
The Head of State by his Decree appointed B. Annameredov to the post of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers in charge of transport and communications. The Turkmen leader focused on the construction of new and reconstruction of existing railways, the need to improve the quality of passenger service on all modes of transport and, in connection with the approaching of 5th Asian Games, instructed to continue the modernization and construction of airports, and to complete construction of Turkmenbashi international seaport.
Continuing the meeting, the President appointed R. Meredov by Decree as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, focusing on implementation of the Concept of foreign policy in the coming years.
Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on the participation of the delegation of our country on 20-21st of February at the tenth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission for Economic Cooperation in Moscow, where he had signed the Protocol and Program of economic cooperation between the governments of Turkmenistan and Russian Federation for 2017-2019, and approved a plan for implementation of this program. During the visit, the members of the Turkmen delegation have had meetings with Chairman of the government of Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
Then Vice Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs reported on the preparations of the upcoming working visit of the governmental delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the President to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in order to participate in the Summit of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). As expected the Summit will be attended by heads of ECO member states, and the Turkmen leader will hold a number of bilateral meetings within its framework.
During the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on conferring the honorary title of Turkmenistan Ene Mahri and Instruction on conduction of a solemn ceremony on behalf of President to give out cash gifts to women in honor of International Women's Day.
The President instructed the chairman of the Mejlis A. Nurberdyeva in Public Organizations Center on March 7th in a solemn ceremony on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan to hand out Ene Mahri signs to women who are to be awarded this honorary title. The Turkmen leader also ordered the same day to present needy families with keys to new apartments.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that in accordance with the legislation which regulates to form the government within one month, Deputy Prime Ministers should propose candidates for the posts of heads of supervised branches.
As the leader of the nation has noted, the priorities facing the Government were determined to them in a speech at the inauguration ceremony of the President of Turkmenistan.
Having set the task of increasing revenues and improving welfare and standards of living, leader of the nation said that for this purpose it is necessary to develop a Presidential state development program for the next seven years and to submit it to the government for consideration.
The President instructed to hold an International conference on the upcoming 5th Asian Games with the participation of representatives of the Olympic federations of sports represented at these competitions on April 7th.
President of Turkmenistan congratulated the participants with their appointment to the high public offices, and wished them success in their important work.
