The new German Ambassador presented his credentials to the President of Turkmenistan

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Turkmenistan Michael Uwe Bierhoff, who presented his credentials to the head of state.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the current state and prospects of Turkmen-German relations both in bilateral and multilateral formats, in particular, in the UN and the OSCE.

The parties noted the mutual desire to diversify interaction that meets the interests of the two countries. The trade and economic sphere was named among the key segments of the partnership. The head of state and the diplomat also stressed that Turkmenistan and Germany are successfully cooperating in various industries, agriculture, the banking sector, as well as in the transport and communications sector.

The parties paid special attention to the issues of intensifying ties in the humanitarian sphere, where the long-term Turkmen-German partnership in the field of healthcare serves as a good example.

At the end of the meeting, Michael Uwe Bierhoff assured Serdar Berdimuhamedov that he would contribute to the intensive development of traditionally friendly relations and the expansion of cooperation that meets the interests of the peoples of the two states.
