The President and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan discussed investment and security with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States

On September 5, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTK) Baghdad Amreyev , the state information agency TDH reports .

The publication does not write anything specific about the negotiations, noting that the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation and the implementation of joint projects in the energy, transport and communications sector and infrastructure.

“Good opportunities for interaction are also opening up taking into account the Turkic investment fund being created in the structure of the Organization ,” the TDH emphasizes.

They also discussed preparations for the next OTC Summit, which will be held in November in Samarkand.

The press service of the OTC reported that the parties discussed the finalization of the Agreement on International Combined Cargo Transportation, the Agreement on a Simplified Customs Corridor, the Agreement on Free Trade in Services and Investments, as well as the Agreement on the Establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund.

On the same day, the head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, Rashid Meredov , met with Baghdad Amraev, the Foreign Ministry reports . The diplomats also discussed cooperation in various fields, in particular, in security issues .

In addition, it is reported that Turkmenistan is interested in partnership with international structures affiliated with the OTC , in particular with the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TurkPA), the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
