President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the participation of Chairman of the Central Bank Merdan Annadurdyev and Chairman of the Board of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs Rakhimberdy Dzheparov .
According to the state news agency TDH , the issues of financing the digitalization of the economy, the transformation of regions, strengthening the position of the oil and gas sector , increasing the volume of import-substituting and export products and the development of the agricultural sector were discussed .
The topic of improving the work of banks was also touched upon. In particular, ensuring the stability of the manat , increasing the level of financial services for citizens and entrepreneurs, and improving the system of cashless payments.
The publication reports that the president called the use of bank cards a promising area and instructed to "responsibly approach the regulatory regulation of financial transactions carried out using such tools."
In response, Rakhimberdy Jepbarov said that expanding the list of services provided through Visa and MasterCard payment systems increases the flow of funds and increases the solvency of the banking sector.
Recall that since the beginning of June, the population of Turkmenistan has had difficulty withdrawing cash from ATMs. To cash out salaries and pensions, people have to spend hours at ATMs. Students of foreign universities are still experiencing similar problems .
On August 19, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reprimanded Merdan Annadurdyev, head of the Central Bank, for interruptions in the operation of ATMs .
