At the invitation of the head of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov , Kazakh President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev will pay a state visit to Turkmenistan on October 24-25, ZonaKZ reports citing Tokayev's press service.

During the visit, talks will be held in narrow and expanded format. The parties will discuss cooperation in trade, transport, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as the current agenda of the region.

On October 12, the head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry Rashid Meredov , who arrived in Nur-Sultan to participate in the sixth meeting of foreign ministers of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), conveyed an invitation to visit Turkmenistan on behalf of President Berdimuhamedov to the head of Kazakhstan .

The visit was planned from the spring of 2021.
