The President of Turkmenistan allocated 300 million dollars to ensure the food security of the country

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov allocated $300 million to ensure the country's food security. The head of state made the relevant decision at a joint meeting of the government and the State Security Council following the results of five months of 2022.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Muhammetguly Mukhammedov reported on the measures taken in the country to improve the supply of food products to the population, create sufficient stocks of foodstuffs and provide consumer markets with food. The Deputy Prime Minister proposed to allocate funds to the relevant structures for the uninterrupted provision of the population with food products, as well as to provide sufficient funds in the state budget for 2023 to ensure the country's food security.

Having listened to the report, the head of Turkmenistan approved the submitted proposals. Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that in order to ensure the country's food security, he decided to allocate 150 million US dollars to entrepreneurs for the creation of appropriate industries. According to the head of state, another 150 million US dollars will be allocated to the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan for the purchase of necessary food products. By signing the relevant resolution, the head of state gave the vice-premier a number of instructions for the effective implementation of this decision.
