The President of Turkmenistan dismissed the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs without explaining the reasons

On January 12, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired an expanded meeting of the Security Council of Turkmenistan.

According to the state information agency TDH , during the meeting, the head of state dismissed Lieutenant Colonel of Police Myrat Babagulyev from the post of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs without giving any reason . Major Vepaly Atayev, head of the Ashgabat police department, has been appointed the new deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs . In turn, the Ashgabat police department was headed by Major Merdan Mukhammetmyradov .

The dismissed lieutenant colonel was appointed by the President as Deputy Minister of the Interior in August 2021. Thus, Babagulyev worked in this post for less than six months.
