The President of Turkmenistan held talks with the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held talks with Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexei Overchuk, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.

The parties noted the constructive nature of the Turkmen-Russian political dialogue, which is developing both in bilateral and multilateral formats. Trade and economic sphere, energy, transport, industry and other sectors were named among the most promising areas of cooperation.

During the talks, it was noted that for many years Russia has been one of the main trade and economic partners of Turkmenistan. The parties also noted the effective work of the intergovernmental commission, which coordinates work on the entire range of issues of developing bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan stressed the need for a more complete implementation of the existing partnership potential and its diversification in order to increase the volume of mutual trade, investment and implementation of joint projects.

On the same day, Alexei Overchuk discussed issues of Turkmen-Russian economic cooperation during a meeting with the chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty (People's Council) of Turkmenistan, the national leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
