The President of Turkmenistan held talks with the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation Alexei Overchuk. The Russian Deputy Prime Minister arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit at the head of a government delegation.

During the talks, it was noted that Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation are successfully cooperating in a bilateral format and within the framework of international structures, as evidenced by the mutual support of international initiatives and proposals. The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, noting the existence of a significant potential for interaction in such key sectors as the trade and economic sphere, the fuel and energy complex, agriculture , light and processing industries, transport, communications, etc. In this regard, the role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation was noted as an effective mechanism for implementing the agreements reached and diversifying economic ties.

Particular emphasis at the talks was placed on the development of partnerships in the development of the Caspian Sea. In particular, the interlocutors discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of shipbuilding.

On this day, a meeting was also held between the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission for Economic Cooperation - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk. During the talks, an exchange of views took place on new areas of bilateral partnership and expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia.
