President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held talks with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili, who arrived in Ashgabat at the head of a delegation.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation. Noting that Turkmenistan and Georgia have a significant potential for expanding contacts in various areas of economic activity, the interlocutors stressed the expediency of studying the possibilities of increasing the range of import-export goods. At the same time, emphasis was placed on the significant role of the intergovernmental commission, whose work is aimed at organizing the most effective forms of interaction.
Also at the talks, the prospects for the formation of a transport and transit corridor between the Caspian and Black Sea regions with access to the states of Europe and the Middle East were noted.
On the same day, negotiations were held between the delegations of Turkmenistan and Georgia, during which priority issues of interaction in various sectors were discussed. Pointing out the trade and economic sphere as one of the promising vectors of bilateral cooperation, the participants of the meeting stressed that there is great potential for increasing bilateral trade and expanding the list of mutual deliveries of products. As a result of the talks, a number of bilateral documents were signed, designed to give new impetus to the development of mutually beneficial ties.
