President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held video conference session with participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Sh. Durdiliyev and Minister of Energy Ch. Purchekov. Modernization of power energy industry have been brought out for discussion.
Opening the session, the Head of the State highlighted that objectives of power energy industry, which is one of the main branches of national economy, occupy important place of the state programmes. According to the Concept of development of power energy industry, integrated work for strengthening of its equipment and facility base, steadfast increment of volumes of delivery of electricity to foreign countries is carried out in Turkmenistan.
Further, the floor was given to deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Sh. Durdiliyev who reported on the situation of the sphere under his supervision.
Speaking of huge potential of national power energy sphere, the President of Turkmenistan highlighted that production of electricity is one of the most profitable branches in the world.
Today, Turkmen power energy industry demonstrates stable and high development rates and is able not only to provide local requirements of the country but also growing volumes of export of energy, the Head of the State said, having given certain assignments to the Vice-premier.
After, the President has listened to the report of Ministry of Energy Ch. Purchekov who reported on fulfilment of assignments for increment of production capacities of the industry. it was noted that its infrastructure has been supplemented with new gas turbine power stations built in Ashgabat, Ahal, Balkan, Lebap and Dashoguz Velayats in the last few years. Today, this work is actively continued.
In this regard, special attention has been paid to construction of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan (TAP) high-voltage power line along Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India (TAPI) gas line.
Turkmen leader highlighted importance of improvement and increment of production capacity of national energy system, use of advanced practice and digital technologies.
In this regard, the participants of the session was ordered to provide strict control of the implementation of the projects, having paid special attention to establishment of reliable unified energy network for provision of uninterrupted power supply within the country.
Thus, speaking of supplies to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the President highlighted that the project initiated by Turkmen side would support to the formation of relative infrastructure and opening of new work places and, the main thing, it would make significant contribution to sustainable development and stabilization of the situation in neighbouring friendly country.
For many countries, Turkmenistan provides comprehensive support to fraternal Afghan people in building of peaceful life. Such major projects as construction of TAPI gas line and Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan power line implemented at present time are very important for participating countries and for the region in general.
Having highlighted the importance of development of wide international cooperation, the President said that Turkmenistan is always open for equal, beneficial partnership with leading foreign companies, which have experience and modern technologies.
According to the Concept of development of power energy industry, engineering and technical developments of new generation have to be introduced all over the industry. the Head of the State demanded to continue paying utmost attention to training of personnel for this sphere.
Finishing working session, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ordered relative officials to develop measures for rapid implementation of the plans and wished success in solution of set objectives.
