President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is on leave on the Caspian coast, took part in the ceremony of laying the foundation of a new automobile bridge across the Garabogazgol Bay on the highway Turkmenbashi - Garabogaz - the border of Kazakhstan.
Speaking at the ceremony, the head of state noted that, given the current conditions, it was decided to start building a new automobile bridge across the Garabogazgol Bay with a total length of 354 meters and a width of 21 meters. The Turkmen leader stressed that the new bridge would significantly increase the volume of trade, freight and passenger traffic between the eastern and northern regions of the country, as well as between the states of the region.
The preparation of the project will be carried out by Altkom Road Construction Limited Liability Company, which has many years of experience in this field. Within two years, a modern automobile bridge across the Garabogazgol Bay with two-way two-lane traffic and roads leading to it will be built on the highway Turkmenbashi - Garabogaz - the border of Kazakhstan. It is planned to complete the construction of the bridge and hand it over in full readiness for operation in June 2024.
