President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Board of PJSC Gazprom Alexey Miller, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.
At the talks, it was noted that at present, Turkmen-Russian cooperation is successfully developing in all areas, and cooperation in the fuel and energy sector is of key importance here.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed at the talks that Turkmenistan, having vast reserves of natural resources, is aimed at the progressive development of long-term cooperation with all interested foreign partners. According to the head of state, the main areas of partnership here are the modernization of oil and gas enterprises, increasing the efficiency of the mining and processing sectors, diversifying energy exports and implementing joint projects.
In this regard, during the talks between the President of Turkmenistan and the head of Gazprom, issues of optimal implementation of the existing cooperation potential were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the successful continuation of the productive Turkmen-Russian partnership in the energy sector, built on a mutually beneficial and long-term basis.
