President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived in Ashgabat to take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the Independence Day of Turkmenistan. Congratulating the head of state on the 31st anniversary of the country’s independence, the leader of Tatarstan addressed his best wishes to the Turkmen people.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on priority issues of bilateral cooperation developing within the framework of the interstate dialogue between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation. The parties paid special attention to the issues of developing trade and economic ties and building partnerships through business structures.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also received the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, who arrived in Ashgabat to celebrate the Independence Day of Turkmenistan. The guest congratulated the Turkmen leader on the 31st anniversary of the country’s independence, addressing the best wishes to the Turkmen people.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of a long-term partnership between Turkmenistan and the city on the Neva. Energy, transport, communications, construction, road transport infrastructure, and shipbuilding were named among the most promising areas of cooperation.
In addition, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Alexei Teksler, who visited the Turkmen capital to participate in the celebration of the Independence Day of Turkmenistan. Expressing gratitude for the hospitality shown in the Turkmen land, the head of the Russian region congratulated the head of state on the national holiday – the 31st anniversary of the country’s independence.
During the talks, issues of expanding bilateral trade and developing partnerships in the industrial sector were discussed. In this regard, the guest noted that a favorable investment climate has been created in Turkmenistan and well-known Russian companies are actively working, which allows expanding and diversifying cooperation in many areas.
