The President of Turkmenistan met with the Minister of Defense of China

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received a member of the State Council, Minister of Defense of China Wei Fenghe, who arrived in Ashgabat on a visit.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for Turkmen-Chinese cooperation, taking into account modern realities. At the same time, special attention was paid to the implementation of the Turkmen-Chinese agreements reached at the highest level and designed to bring bilateral cooperation to a new level.

The parties noted that relations between Turkmenistan and China are complemented by an effective partnership within the framework of the UN, other international and regional organizations, including in the "Central Asia - China" format.

As Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, Turkmenistan is implementing a policy of positive neutrality, peacefulness and good neighborliness. According to the head of state, the military doctrine of the country, which is purely defensive in nature and is designed to ensure the security of the state, a calm and prosperous life of the people, also corresponds to these goals. The Turkmen leader also stressed that Ashgabat takes an active part in the development of balanced solutions to the pressing problems of our time and contributes to the development of international cooperation.

The Chinese Defense Minister, in turn, noted that Beijing has great respect for the neutral status of Turkmenistan, which is an important factor in ensuring peace and stability in the region. Wei Fenghe also stressed that Turkmenistan, steadily fulfilling its obligations as a neutral state, has earned a reputation as a reliable and responsible partner in the international arena.
