President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the ceremony of commissioning a complex of mudflow diversion facilities built in the southern part of Ashgabat.
In accordance with the resolution of the head of state, adopted in March 2020, the administration of Ashgabat, in order to further strengthen the protection of the capital from mudflows, signed a contract with the Russian joint-stock company Production Association Vozrozhdenie for the construction of a complex of mudflow diversion facilities in the foothills of the Kopetdag.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President of Turkmenistan stressed that large-scale programs are being implemented in the country that contribute to its accelerated development in all areas. In particular, construction and commissioning of a number of large industrial and social facilities continues in Ashgabat, as evidenced by the launch of a complex of mudflow diversion facilities in the south of the capital.
The total length of the complex of mudflow diversion facilities is 49 kilometers. During its construction, modern architectural and engineering solutions, as well as digital technologies, were used. The complex includes open reservoirs, bridges, pumping stations, more than 34 kilometers of concrete channels, over 8 kilometers of pipelines and other engineering systems.
This project was carried out by the joint efforts of the Russian and Turkmen design institutes, as well as specialists from the Scientific Research Institute of Seismic Construction of Turkmenistan.
The St. Petersburg company Vozrozhdenie has been operating in the Turkmen market for more than 10 years. Over the years, Russian builders have built more than a dozen infrastructure facilities, including highways, interchanges, bridge structures and other facilities.
